The Valparaiso Department
of Parks and Recreation employs 34 full-time staff, representing the divisions of
Administration, Horticulture, Park Maintenance & Construction, Golf, Golf Maintenance,
Golf Operations, Recreation, Senior Citizen Services, Sports, and Special Events
and Marketing.

Remember, we will have many more part-time positions as new programs and opportunities
begin! Some positions are seasonal, and begin approximately in March or April. They
are usually 30-40 hours per week and continue through the early fall. Other positions
are summer only (after the school season), and may be 20-40 hours per week. All
seasonal and part-time positions may have schedules that require employee availability
on weekends and/or evenings.
