Kirchhoff Park
Kirchhoff Park is an 11-acre parcel, and was the City’s first
park, with a donation
of part of the acreage from Frederick Kirchhoff. This popular park is located on
the east side of Roosevelt Road about 1/4 mile north of Lincolnway on the City’s east
side. Amenities include horseshoe pits, tennis courts, age appropriate playground equipment, softball fields and lots of open space.
The North Shelter (shown below left) is open sided
and is surrounded by large shade trees. This shelter will accommodate approximately
80 persons. Renters of this shelter will use the handicap accessible restrooms located in the nearby Kirchhoff South shelter. Your reservation fee of $60 (or $50 resident
discount fee) can be paid by cash, check or credit card and made in person or by
phone at the Park Administrative Office. Shelter fees are non-refundable and are
due in full when the reservation is made.
The South Shelter (shown above right) was extensively
renovated six years ago and will accommodate approximately 50 persons. The shelter
is equipped with handicap accessible restrooms. Your reservation fee of $70 (or
$60 resident discount fee) can be paid by cash, check or credit card and made in
person or by phone at the Park Administrative Office. Shelter fees are non-refundable

Kirchhoff Park has two other shelters. Kirchhoff-Miller Wood Shelter (shown below
left) is located east of the baseball diamond area. The Schroeder Shelter (shown
below right) is located just south of the baseball diamond area. Your reservation
fee of $70 (or $60 resident discount fee) can be paid by cash, check or credit card
and made in person or by phone at the Park Administrative Office. Shelter fees are
non-refundable and are due in full when the reservation is made.
Your
shelter reservation ensures a clean, safe facility protected from extreme heat and
rain. Picnic
tables can be reserved (4 for $40 + tax). All shelters are equipped with 20 amp
electrical service. A "half barrel" grill can be rented for $15 plus tax. Recycle
bags are provided as well as garbage receptacles. Volleyball standards are available
at each park for use by all park visitors. Moonwalks, dunktanks, tents, canopies
and amplified music are prohibited.
